Past conferences

In 2003 the main organizational committee has decides to organize the Conference in two different part of the world in order to give the participants an opportunity to choose, which way is simpler for them. In 2003 the Conference was held in Saint-Petersburg (Russia) and Melbourne (Australia).

The leaders of the Institute for High Performance Computing and Information Systems (IHPC&IS) were the members or Russian local organizing committee:

Alexander A. Bogdanov (director);
Yuriy E. Gorbahcev (deputy director);
Elena N. Stankova (head of department for information analytical service);
Alexander V. Bukhanovsky (head of research-and-production department).

The IHPC&IS collective has successfully solved the problem of finding placement for the Conference. It was held on the liner on the route Saint-Petersburg-island Valaam (Ladoga lake).

Besides the functions of the IHPC&IS collective included:

• registration fees collection;

• providing the participants and their accompanying persons with accommodation, food, entertainment;

• police registration of the foreign participants;

• organization of sections;

• taking most participants to the place of the conference and other organizing events.

Moreover, the IHPC&IS collective took an active part in review of the participants▓ articles, organization of workshops, etc. Some of the IHPC&IS employees were the Conference participants themselves.

Totally more than 150 persons took part in the Conference. There were participants from Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Poland, Iran, USA, Finland, Russia and other countries.

After completion of the Conference the local Russian organizing committee had received lots of positive reports about its organization.
